Spanish producer prices decline 1.6% in February 2015

MADRID:  The statistical office INE said that Spain’s producer prices decline slowed for the second straight month in 2015. Producer prices fell 1.6 percent year-over-year in February, slower than January’s 2.8 percent decline. In December, prices had fallen 3.6 percent. Prices have been falling since July last year.

Prices in the manufacturing sector slid 2.4 percent annually in February and mining and quarrying prices dropped by 0.3 percent. Meanwhile, prices of electricity and gas and water supply grew 2.8 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively.
