Judge Irum Niazi sentences heroin smuggler to two years imprisonment, fine

ISLAMABAD: Special District and Sessions Judge CNS Irum Niazi has sentenced Ismael Muhammad s/o Sikander Khan, to two years imprisonment and a fine off Rs 200,000 in heroin smuggling case. The convict is a resident of Nawshera and an FIR Number 37/14 was registered against him. In case of non-payment of fine the accused will have to serve another eight months in the jail.

According to details, Superintendent Jawad Ishaq on directives of Customs Collector Model of Customs Collectorate MCC-Islamabad formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Customs Abid Malik. The team included Inspector Khalid Masood, Hawaldar Muhammad Anwer, Constable Hassan Raza and Constable Muhammad Munir.

The Accused was trying to fly for Birmingham England through flight number PK- 791. Upon search the raiding party found 4 kg heroin from hidden portions of his suitcase. After lodging FIR the case was sent in CNS court.

On completion of hearing the courts has announced the accused guilty and ordered two years imprisonment and Rs 200000 fine. Ismael is sent to Adyala Jail.
