NEW DELHI: Tata Motors will be launching its Bolt hatchback on January 20th 2015. The manufacturer had recently started accepting online bookings for the hatchback at an amount of Rs.  11,000. It gets powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron MPFi petrol engine making 89bhp of power and 14.27kgm of torque.

The Bolt sports Tata Motors’ new design language that first debuted on the Zest. The company has said that they have concentrated on quality in the Bolt hatchback. They have adopted a practice of testing the parts supplied by component makers for quality, before they are allowed to proceed to the assembly line.

The company recently organized a five-day event for all component suppliers for the Zest and the Bolt in which around 300 auto component manufacturers took part and brought along over 600 different parts. Each part was fitted and checked for any niggles that could create an issue in the final-production model.

The Bolt hatchback is the second product after the Zest, from the company’s Horizon next umbrella.
