Telekom Malaysia wins broadband projects worth RM3.4b

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has accepted a letter of award from the government for two broadband projects which would entail an investment of RM3.4bil.

It said here the other day it would collaborate with the government to deploy the high speed broadband Phase 2 (HSBB 2) project to provide access and domestic core networks to deliver an end-to-end HSBB infrastructure.

“The total cost of the HSBB investment for a period of 10 years is RM1.8bil,” it said.

TM will also collaborate with the government to undertake a sub urban broadband project to deploy the access and domestic core networks to deliver an end-to-end HSBB infrastructure.

“The total cost of the SUBB investment for a period of 10 years is RM1.6bil,” it said.

TM said with the acceptance of the letter of award, the parties would enter into a formal agreement in due course.
