Three Collectorates of Appraisement-South, NBP branches to remain open on Dec 31

KARACHI: All the three Model Customs Collectorates of Appraisement-South as well as designated branches of the National Bank of Pakistan would remain open from 9am until 8pm on December 31.

The collectorates of East, West and Port Qasim would remain open until 8pm to ensure that duties and taxes are collected on the last day of 2014, which is also the last day of the first half of the fiscal year 2014.

The Customs Appraisement-South chief collector had asked Appraisement-East collector to contact the management of the State Bank of Pakistan as well as the NBP for provision of banking facility to taxpayers at all the designated branches of the NBP.

The chief collector has also asked the Appraisement-West collector to intimate all the stakeholders including clearing agents, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, trade & industry bodies. The Appraisement-West collector was also asked to contact port authorities and terminal operators to make arrangements to ensure synchronizing of their workings on the last day of the year.
