LONDON: Today Skype receives Android 5.4 update with minor changes specifically regarding Instant Messaging and new script while someone is typing a message.
The Skype app for Android mobiles was updated today and it has some tweaks which users might be interested in. Since these updates are not game changers, they will help in providing better user interface. The updated Android version will improve IM service experience for users.
First up is the typing indicator. Whenever another party will be typing a message, typing notification will appear besides the name box. It is just like any other instant messaging or chat app, and it is expected that all users will welcome this feature with open arms.
Another feature which will help users identify who wrote what in a group chat is when the avatar picture will move alongside lengthy messages. This way, users would be able to track down multiple conversation participants with ease.
Now users would be able to send feedback directly from the mobile app instead of being transferred to the mobile site. This can be done through the settings menu.
The stability and performance has also improved with the update, for better and smoother running app. Few icons have been inserted in the app to determine the type of file shared within the IM. These updates are available for Android Lollipop users.
