TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell 0.36 percent in the morning session of Monday as investors moved to lock in gains after the Nikkei index’s 11-day winning streak through Friday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 73.46 points, from Friday to end the morning at 20,489.69. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 4.59 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,669.06.
Decliners were led by real estate, transport equipment and shipping issues.
