TOKYO: Tokyo stocks started 0.79 per cent higher Friday after Europe’s main stock exchanges closed mixed overnight as shareholders digested the OPEC verdict not to cut oil production and the vision of quantitative easing in the eurozone.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 136.33 points at 17,384.83 in the first minutes of trading.
