Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia import Iranian goods via Jolfa customs in Q1

ANKARA: Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia imported Iranian goods via the northeastern Jolfa customs in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21), the director general of the Jolfa Customs Department, Ahmad Mahmoudi, said.

Over 21 tons of goods, valued at $17 million, were exported to the three countries in the 3-month period, a 7 percent rise year on year, he added.

Bitumen, construction materials, and plastic products were the main items exported from the Jolfa customs.

Meanwhile, 104,000 tons of goods, worth $261 million, were imported via the Jolfa customs to the country from Turkey, China, and Germany, showing 116 percent rise year on year.

Iran’s non-oil trade reached $21.214 billion in the spring, which corresponds to the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

Iran exported 25.061 million tons of non-oil products worth $10.867 billion in the three-month period, while imported 8.845 million tons of non-oil goods valued at $10.347 billion during the mentioned period of time.

Iran’s major exported products included liquefied gases with the country’s key export destinations being China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India and Afghanistan.

The country’s main imported items were corn, wheat and press cake with the main import origins being China, the UAE, South Korea, Turkey and India.
