MANCHESTER: Manchester police said they seized a large amount of heroin with an estimated street value of $10,500 during a drug investigation on Tuesday.
Members of the Manchester Police Special Enforcement Division and the New Hampshire State Police arrested Elmer Torres, 35, of Manchester.

Police said they received information indicating that Torres was transporting a large amount of heroin in a 2005 Acura.
Police said they stopped Torres near Valley West Way on the west side of Manchester around 5:40 p.m. and found 30 “fingers” — approximately 300 grams — of heroin.
Torres was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and conspiracy to commit the sale of a controlled drug. Police said he was also placed on a hold for probation or parole.
Police said they essentially removed 1,500 individual “hits” of heroin from the street with this one arrest.
