The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has blocked the activities of an organized inter-regional group that specialized in the illegal transfer of foreigners from Middle East countries to the European Union.
Illegal immigrants entered the territory of Ukraine also through the Russian Federation, the SBU website said on Sept. 25.
“It was established that two residents of Lviv and a resident of the capital organized illegal transfer abroad of immigrants from eastern countries with an increased terrorist risk. The dealers looked for their clients among foreigners who illegally arrived in Ukraine. Lawbreakers provided “transit facilities” for legalization in our country and for smuggling abroad with fake passports of citizens of one of the European countries. Then, the persons involved in the case sent groups of foreigners to the border with the EU using their own transport,” it said.
