ORLANDO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers in Orlando, Florida inspected a cargo shipment arriving from Mexico discovered packages wrapped in tape and carbon paper, containing a compacted green leafy substance, concealed within buckets of liquid sealant.
CBP officers selected the shipment for further examination and noticed anomalies on the x-ray screen. Physical inspection of the buckets revealed a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.
A total of 360 pounds of marijuana was seized and all evidence was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
“The men and women of CBP are the frontline of defense against drug smuggling into the United States. This seizure is an excellent example of their hard work and commitment to the mission,” said Orlando Port Director Eduardo Oliveros.
