Officers arrested a 24-year-old man Jan. 21 for attempting to smuggle two packages of heroin through the port in his backpack. The drugs weighed nearly 5.5 and are worth an estimated $77,000.Nearly 300 pounds of marijuana was discovered throughout a smuggling vehicle, on Jan. 17.
On Jan. 17, officers arrested a 36-year-old man after a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to nearly 300 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $149,000, concealed throughout his Dodge van.
Officers seized the vehicle and drugs, and referred both subjects to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
