TEXAS: The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop on US-287, yielding 35 pounds of marijuana valued at over $126,000.
A DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Ford Focus traveling eastbound on US-287, for a traffic violation, near Iowa Park in Wichita County.
The driver of the Focus was identified as Walter Ulysses Cordova, 29, of Los Angeles, Calif. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 33 bundles of marijuana in the vehicle.
Cordova was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana over 5 pounds under 50 pounds, a third degree felony, and booked into the Wichita County jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, Calif., to Dallas.
