SAN JUAN: U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) is scheduled to visit Jamaica this week for a series of activities organized by the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Jamaican government said in a statement.
Clarke accepted an invitation from the MBCCI president, Gloria Henry, who will host a dinner on Friday in the congresswoman’s honor.
On Saturday, the U.S. congresswoman will meet with representatives from the manufacturing and energy sector, including the Jamaica Public Service Company and the Port Authority of Jamaica.
Born to Jamaican parents, Clarke represents a district in Brooklyn and is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Clarke accompanied President Barak Obama on a visit to Jamaica in April.
