CARACAS: The Venezuelan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fedecámaras) presented a set of proposals focused on revising the regulatory framework, with a view to reactivating production and recovering the economy.
The document entitled “Fedecámaras: Commitment amid Freedom,” was presented by Francisco Martínez, the President of Fedecámaras. He stressed that the government needed to make decisions urgently to establish a regulatory framework allowing recovery of the economy.
Businesspersons asserted that the set of laws establishing foreign exchange and price controls needed to be revised.
In that regard, Fedecámaras called for a “free, unique, and competitive foreign exchange system, and the abrogation of the Law on Fair Prices.”
