HANOI: Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his visiting Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban agreed here on Monday to take specific measures to strengthen cooperation in various fields. Addressing a joint press briefing after their talks, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said the two sides will beef up economic cooperation, trade promotion and investment, and create more favorable conditions for Hungarian firms to do business in or with Vietnam, especially in the spheres of water resource exploitation, environmental protection, pharmaceutical, husbandry, foodstuff processing and renewable energy.
The Hungarian prime minister said his country wants to develop special relations with Vietnam because the two countries have traditional friendly and cooperative ties, and Vietnam has great potential for development in the next 30 years. After the talks, the two prime ministers witnessed ceremonies of signing cooperative documents in the fields of finance, culture, education, agriculture, labor, and information and communications technology, and of inking a sister city deal between Vietnam’s southern Can Tho city and Hungary’s southwester Kaposvar city.
