NEW DELHI: The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift will be introduced in India by the end of this month. Though, the company has already opened pre-bookings at a token amount of Rs. 25, 000 across all its dealerships in the country.

The new Vento facelift will host a bunch of cosmetic changes and additional features, perhaps the most significant update has been made to its fuel efficiency. The new version is claimed to be 7.5% more frugal than the existing model, as GM has tweaked all three engines of the sedan – a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. A 5-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission will be offer.

Coming to the design, the Vento facelift will receive an entirely new front fascia with Passat-inspired front grille, a new front bumper and bonnet, horizontal fog lamps with integrated cornering lights and lower front similar to the Jetta. Other exterior updates will include modified rear bumper with a chrome strip and new tail lights.

The updated version of the sedan will have more to offer. It gets electrically-operated outside rear-view mirrors with LED turn signals, cruise control, external boot release, auto folding mirrors, a dead-pedal, a chilled glove box and various other fitments. In addition to this, the two new light-shade color schemes will also be on offer – Cloud Titanschwarz (with Trendline and Comfortline trims) and Walnut Desert Beige (with Highline variant).

The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Verna facelift, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Honda City. With updated styling, additional features and improved fuel efficiency, the facelifted Vento will be a slightly expensive than the existing model.
