LONDON: Volkswagen Polo GTI is all set for booking orders for sale starting in March 2015 with price tag £18,850 for the 3-door manual edition. 5-door models will cost an extra £630 and you can book even a 6-manual or for an extra £1245, a 7-speed DSG transmission.
Power comes from a petrol 1.8-litre engine outputting 192 PS between 4,200-6,200rpm (5,400-6,200 DSG). For the manual edition torque is measured at 320 Nm from 1,450-4,200 rpm, and for the DSG 250 Nm between 1,250 and 5,300 rpm. The top speed is 146mph with a 0-62 mph time of 6.7 seconds. The official NEDC combined figures are 47.1 mpg/139 g/km (manual) and 50.4 mpg/129 g/km.
Standard equipment comprises 17-inch ‘Parabolica’ alloy wheels, sports suspension, LED lighting, XDS+ with ESC Sport (electronic stability control).
