LAHORE – Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) exhorted the businessmen to tap e-commerce by making an all-out effort in this regard.
PCJCCI President Shah Faisal Afridi said the volume of e-commerce in Pakistan is more than $4 billion/year and will increase in the near future. He elaborated that establishing business through e-commerce is effective due to low cost, and billions of the buyers and sellers can be connected from the globe.
He said, “We must understand that almost 78 per cent of the ecommerce activity takes place in USA.” Nevertheless, Pakistan can make good use of this opportunity with proper planning and execution, he maintained and suggested to focus on the domestic front before going for the global market.
He noted, “The internet is prevailing like dark cloud on Pakistan at present, but it has a capacity to supplement economy if utilized properly.” He said that entrepreneurs should be taught about latest and most popular trends of e-commerce, including business-to-consumers (B2C), business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-citizens (G2C).
