LONDON: The latest WhatsApp 2.12.161 APK free download comes in with a bunch of new changes and features, and among them is the introduction of skin tone emojis on the Android platform. This feature started showing up in the previous beta version of this app, which is v2.12.159 and now that it has again appeared in this version, it seems the developers will soon be rolling out in the stable version.

When using the latest beta version of WhatsApp on your Android device, you will be able to add an Emoji using the same method as before. In essence, nothing has changed about how these characters are included in a message, however, what is new here is that the users can now scroll further to see more than the regular options they see. Down at the bottom there are more options denoted, using a triangle. Tap on it and you will get more options of skin tones to choose from, among them yellow and five other gradual shades that range from snow white to chocolate brown.

Once you select a tone, it becomes the default color for this Emoji and from here on, simply taping on the Emoji will insert it with the skin tone you chose. When you tap and hold on it, the selector for changing it will appear and you can choose a different tone.

Vulcan Salute included in latest version

The latest version of WhatsApp 2.12.161 APK also comes with a rather familiar addition to the Android platform the Vulcan Salute Emoji or simply the Spock hand. This Emoji can be found towards the end of the gestures and it is visible to every Android user of the app, which is contrary to the iOS case which requires users to play around with the app before revealing this gesture. This is probably due to the fact that there are more users of WhatsApp on the Android devices than those using iOS devices.
