BUDAPEST: Wizz air to will provide a HUF 1 billion to Budapest airport for constructing a new hanger, property director René Droese announced today.
The 15-year lease for the new hangar was signed last June. The general contractor for the hangar is Market Építő. Hungarian news agency MTI said that as of this spring, Wizz Air is using Budapest as a base for a fleet of nine aircraft. Line maintenance and minor repairs required in the course of daily operation will be performed in the new 2,000 sqm hangar and a 200 sqm service facility, the agency added. Wizz Air has the highest passenger numbers at Liszt Ferenc, where the airline also operates a training center.
