CHINA: The world’s biggest container ship, the second 19, 100TEU of China Shipping Container Lines Co, arrived in Ulsan, Korea. It was called at Songyu Wharf which is the container ship’s debut in Xiamen and a new milestone for Xiamen port’s accommodation of container ships.
The container ship is 400 meters in length and 58.6 meters in width. It is as tall as a 23-floor building and equal to 4 standard size football pitches. Compared with normal container ships, it can save oil by 20% and reduce carbon emission by 30,000 tons annually.
According to Xiamen Port Holding Group and Xiamen Container Ship Terminal Group, the container throughput capacity of China Shipping Container Lines (Xiamen branch) has held the lead in Xiamen for 5 consecutive years.
The Songyu Wharf is currently the best container terminal in Xiamen.
