Yamaha presents Alpha, Ray, Ray Z with next-generation ‘Blue Core’ engine price start at Rs. 47,805

DELHI: Yamaha India has launched three scooters Alpha, Ray and Ray Z with the next-generation ‘Blue Core’ engine concept in all three scooters.

This ‘Blue Core’ engine concept improves the combustion efficiency and cooling efficiency while reducing power loss. The new scooter range is now claimed to return an impressive mileage of 66kmpl, which is 4kmpl more than the previous models.

Yamaha has also offered gleaming gold and cyan splash colours with the Alpha and Ray Z scooters respectively, while the Ray continues with the existing colour range. The Blue Core Enabled Yamaha Alpha is priced at Rs. 49,939, while the Ray Z is tagged at Rs. 48,936. The Ray scooter with Blue Core technology is priced at Rs. 47,805. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

All three scooters continue to feature the same 113cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. The company has made few changes including Nickel Spark plug for improved combustion, new muffler setting and New BS carburettor & TPS setting.

Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said, “We are eyeing around 10 percent share in the fast growing scooter market in India this year riding on our three scooter offerings. The success of the Ray, Ray Z, and Alpha scooters are essential to Yamaha to realize its targets in the coming years. Yamaha sees scooters contributing over 50 percent of its sales in the future. Currently, scooters constitute about 40 percent of our sales.”
