NEW YORK: Google’s Android 5.0 update has started for a pair of HTC One smartphones from AT&T.
HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi announced in a tweet that the Lollipop update will arrive for the One M8 over the next few days. The original HTC One, however, should see its own dose of candied sweetness as soon as today.
Although HTC didn’t quite make its self-imposed 90-day update deadline for Android 5.0, it hasn’t missed the mark by much. Thanks to a bit of transparency, HTC smartphone owners also know when to keep an eye out for updates.
As a reminder, Android 5.0 brings about a number of refinements, particularly in the user interface. Employing Google’s “Material Design” principles, Lollipop also features a new notification system, enhanced multitasking and more efficient battery life.
