$1.5 billion investment: China to begin 700 km pipeline project to transport 1bcf/d LNG

ISLAMABAD: A media report has revealed that China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) will shortly start laying 700 km Gwadar-Nawabshah gas pipeline in Pakistan to transport up to 1 billion cubic feet per day of regasified LNG.

The China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau is likely to complete the project in two years, it said. Pakistan hopes that it would also facilitate Iran-Pakistan pipeline project if international sanctions on Tehran go.

CPP would bring the required capital of $1.5 billion and will also construct the LNG terminal in Gwadar, costing $800 million, according to officials. The terminal will have a capacity of 500 mmcfd of LNG.
