ISLAMABAD: The petroleum ministry has dissolved the PSO management board and sent OGRA Chairman Saeed Ahmed Khan on forced leave of three months.
The action is taken after a two-member committee held the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) responsible for petrol crisis in the country few days ago.
Rejecting the committee’s findings, OGRA argued that maintaining stocks was a duty of the director-general of the Petroleum Ministry.
On January 21, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif suspended PSO’s deputy managing director finance Sohail Bhatti. Earlier, he had removed Petroleum Secretary Abid Saeed, Additional Petroleum Secretary Naeem Malik, DG Oil CM Azam and PSO’s acting Managing Director Amjad Janjua.
