1,000 ATMs target in 2015: First NBP ATM Point service unveiled

KARACHI: Under the plan to set up 1,000 ATMs in 2015, the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) established first ATM Point Centre comprising six ATMs at NBP Sakhi Hassan Branch, Five Star Chowarangi in North Nazimabad.

The bank has chalked out a plan “NBP ATM POINT” project to be completed in 2015 at various locations across the country.

NBP President Syed Iqbal Ashraf inaugurated the first such centre. Speaking on the occasion, he declared that the bank striving hard to install 1000 ATMs in 2015 to making it one of the largest ATM networks in the country, adding that this ATM Point launched by NBP would be beneficial for existing customer, potential customers and would also help to attract the card holders of other banks.

He further said the team which had worked and launched this service was felicitated and lauded their efforts in making this project a success. These ATM Points are going to be established at places convenient to public access at large. These Points are being established at locations which are either in close vicinity to branches having large number of accounts or within same space/premises where a branch already exists, President NBP said.

Assigning top priority to the project the first ATM Point site has become functional as of December 31, 2014, similar ATM Points will be established at Bahawalpur, Kharian, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot in the first phase.
