PESHAWAR: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) will soon launch housing scheme on about 10,000 kanals land in the suburbs of the provincial capital.
Sources said that land acquisition for the project was under process and soft launching would likely be held next month and executed in coming months. They said that DHA had already taken possession of around 6,000 kanals of land on the Regi side, while about 4,000 kanals additional land was being acquired to expand the project further.
The official concerned said that the housing scheme was being launched to resolve ownership disputes among the rival tribes and now they had become friends.
Orakzai and Regi tribes had a dispute over the ownership of the property for decades and the animosity had claimed 24 lives so far, the official said.
