WASHINGTON: Eleven ships laden with petrol have arrived in Lagos ports awaiting discharge, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The “Shipping Position”, a publication of the NPA, said on Monday that one other ship had also arrived at the port with aviation fuel and waiting to discharge. It added that 27 other ships containing petroleum products, food items and other goods were being expected at the ports from Sunday to June 4.
It explained that other expected ships contained general cargoes, bulk salt, bulk sugar, wheat, bulk charcoal, diesel, kerosene, bulk fertilizer and other containerized goods. The publication noted that 15 other ships are currently at the ports discharging wheat, general cargoes, petrol, sugar, kerosene, aviation fuel, diesel and containers.
