116 branches set up till 2014: BOK serving Islamic Banking clients efficiently

PESHAWAR: Raast Islamic Banking of The Bank of Khyber (BOK) has business-friendly network in all major cities of the country as the bank has established 116 new branches till December 2014 which will further expended in 2015.

Addressing the inauguration of BOK Raast Islamic Banking Branch at Takhat Bhai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said emphasized that Islam was a complete code of life and prosperity of the society laid in compliance with Islamic code of finances.

Muzaffar Said claimed that the present provincial government had given policy guidelines on banking, finance, trade and investment and assured that the government was committed for the well-being of the common man.

MPA Jamshid Khan Mohmand, former MNA Dr Attaur Rehman, Group Heads and Divisional Heads from BOK Head Office also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, The Bank of Khyber Managing Director Shamsul Qayyum in his welcome address said that BOK was committed to cater the banking requirements of Islamic banking as well as conventional in a befitting manner to encourage economic developmental activities in the region.

He said that BOK had been serving Islamic Banking clients by providing them all banking services through its net-work across the country successfully since 2003. He also mentioned that BOK Raast Islamic Banking was supervised by a Shariah Compliant Committee as per State Bank of Pakistan’s rules.

This is a prime responsibility of BOK to provide Shariah Compliance schemes which are now getting encouraging results from the clients.
