12 butchers held for slaughtering donkeys, selling unhygienic meat

MULTAN: The local police have arrested 12 butchers for slaughtering donkeys and selling unhygienic meat.

As per deails, the citizens caught two butchers red-handed slaughtering a donkey here in Shujabad tow. The catchers thrashed the accused and handed over to police later on. Shujabad Saddar police said that case was registered against the butchers.

The suspects were shifted to the Saddar Police Station where both the suspects rejected the allegations saying that they had slaughtered the animal to get its hide. Ghulam Yasin and Sufyan Ali said they were to receive Rs 25,000 for the hide and didn’t intend to sell the meat of donkey.

In Faisalabad, 10 butchers have been arrested for slaughtering unhealthy and sick animals at illegal slaughterhouses.

The divisional task force accompanied by Assistant commissioner city Shahrukh Naizi and Livestock Department doctors conducted raids on Jamburu road and impounded 26 maund of unhygienic meat.
