ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan said that Memorandum of Understanding worth $1.3 billion had been signed at the Expo Pakistan 2015 making it a resounding success as all the targets set for the Expo have been achieved.
The minister said that 1200 representatives from 72 countries visited the Expo and expressed their keen interest in Pakistani products showcased by companies from all over Pakistan. He said that Expo Pakistan 2015 was specifically distinct in its essence as the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) encouraged women entrepreneurs to participate in the Expo and exhibit to the world the latent potential Pakistani women possess.
He added that as a policy initiative the MoC will promote representatives from lesser developed parts of the Pakistan to participate in the next Expo so that the benefits of economic prosperity may be distributed evenly. He noted that massive participation of foreign representatives in the Expo is very heartening and an irresistible sign that the law and order situation in the country has improved considerably and the perception of Pakistan as a peace-loving nation is emerging as a result of successful ongoing operation against terrorism.
