HONG KONG: A large quantity of wine was at last found in the secret section at the underside of the car. Customs House member to Gongbei Customs District stopped an inward car with dual license plates at Gongbei Port and found 121 bottles of undeclared foreign-made wine and red wine which were hidden in a secret section at the underside of the car.

That day around midnight, Customs officers stopped Lei, a Hong Kong driver who had the record of multiple entries and exits in a short period of time and hiding wines in car. Customs officers found doubtful points about the car, using an easy underbody detector. According to the statistics, Gongbei Customs District has intercepted 7 smuggling cases in which cars with dual license-plates were used to hide the undeclared items by far this year. 730 cigars, 432 bottles of wine and 22 mobile phones with a total street value of RMB 400,000 were seized in these 7 cases. The irregular shadow on the image of the car underneath sent by a large-seized scanner also recommended the car might be used in smuggling.
