It is expected to be completed before schedule and go a long way in transmitting power to load centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to allow economic activity in PESCO and TESCO areas.

The spokesman said following the signing of an agreement on May 13 last year, the high-voltage transmission project was pursued with an ambitious execution plan to get it completed within the scheduled time of 450 days despite security issues and the Indus river crossing.

In 224 days, so far 360 tower foundations out of the total 383 had been concreted as well as 253 towers erected. Currently, very difficult construction of a tower foundation in the Indus was going on.
