126th position on CPI: NAB chief directs all divisions to work hard

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, chairing the concluding session of a two-day meeting on annual inspection of different Divisions, has lauded the monitoring system of under trial cases introduced by the Prosecution Division.

The NAB chief directed all prosecutors to be fully prepared before appearing in the respective courts for any case.

Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that everyone should work hard so that Pakistan’s rating in the next year Corruption Perception Index (CPI) be improved from the present 126th position.

He said that NAB Chairman’s Inspection & Monitoring Team (CI&MT) has inspected all NAB Regional Bureaus and NAB HQ; assessed their performance on the same parameters – resultantly the uniform functioning of all the Bureaus would be achieved.

The newly-devised quantified grading system will continue in order to review and evaluate the performance of NAB Regional Bureaus and NAB HQ during 2015 and a “Mid Year Review” of all NAB regional bureaus and NAB Headquarters will be held in June, 2015.
