KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi metropolis, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, has said that “I Am Karachi Youth Festival” has highlighted the positive skills of youths and helped boosted the peace in the city.
Shoaib Siddiqui expressed these views, while addressing the certificates distribution ceremony at “I Am Karachi Youth Festival”, which was organized by Arts Council Karachi.
Arts Council Secretary Ahmed Shah and other organisations’ leaders, representatives were also present there. The children of different schools and youths participated in essay writing and Urdu & English debats, singing and art competitions.
Ahmed said that special youth are skilful like other youths, so society should respect them, and also provide them opportunities to show their talent.
According to different surveys, Karachi’s population has surpassed 13.38 million. A report shows that the percentage of youth in the population will decline from the current 38 per cent to 23 per cent by 2050 because of decline in fertility.
