132 narcotics cases registered in Sindh during six months

KARACHI: Sindh Excise and Narcotics Departments have registered 132 cases under Narcotics Act and arrested 141 accused besides impounding 12 vehicles from different parts of the province during the last six months.

This was revealed during a briefing to Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Giyan Chand Asrani. The report further informed that during the corresponding period in 4 kg heroine, 7808 kg charas, 11 kg opium, 4735 kg bhang, illicit and foreign liquor and machinery used in manufacturing liquor were also recovered, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.  The minister lauded the performance of department and expressed his commitment that it was his obligation to make Sindh free from drugs and to save the youth from this menace.
