KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has criticised the 14 percent GST on indenting commission imposed by Sindh government in the provincial budget for fiscal year 2015-16.

The chamber said that this unjust levy cannot be charged from Indenting Commission Agents as they do not fall in the services sector.

The indenting commission agents were already paying 5 percent withholding tax at import stage which comes under the proviso of Federal Government, therefore the imposition of 14 percent GST by Sindh government was tantamount to double taxations which was against the Constitution of Pakistan.
