1472.53ft level at Tarbela, 1169.15ft in Mangla: IRSA releases 47,036 cusecs water

ISLAMABAD: Keeping higher water levels in different reservoirs in view, the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Friday released 47,036 cusecs water for various rim stations with inflow of 43,765 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1472.53 feet, which was 92.53 feet higher than its dead level 1380 feet. Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 14,200 cusecs while outflow was recorded as 12,000 cusecs.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1169.15 feet, which was 129.15 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 9,529 cusecs and 15,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 18,940, 24,816 and 21,065 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from the Kabul River a total of 13,600 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 6,436 cusecs released from the Chenab River at Marala.
