1,490 drug pushers arrested, narcotics, liquor recovered

PESHAWAR: The district police in its crackdown against drug peddlers have recovered large amount of narcotics and arrested scores of involved persons from City, Cantt and rural areas, SSP Operations told media on Thursday.

He said during the current week strong action was taken against people involved in drug smuggling and selling and special checking and raids were conducted in City, Cantt and rural areas of Peshawar.

During the week long crackdown around 1490 people involved in drug smuggling and dealing were arrested and 59 kg hashish, one kg opium, 4.540 kg heroine and 36 bottles of liquor were recovered. Cases were registered against the involved persons in concerned police station.
