15-day ultimatum to govt: SSA rejects PIA’s privatisation plan, warns of protest

KARACHI –Rejecting the plan of privatisation of PIA, the Senior Staff Association of Pakistan International Airline (SSA-PIA) has given 15 days ultimatum to the government to accept its demands.

At PIA’s headquarters, Karachi, SSPIA’s general body meeting was held for discussing privatization of the airline and other issues of the officials. After the meeting, the office bearers and other employees also stage protest outside headquarters.

They demanded that the government should fulfill their basic demands. SSA President Aqeel Siddiqui said that the association and other employees of the national carrier had rejected the government’s plan of PIA privatization. He said that the government and airline management should include the association’s nominated representatives when deciding the future of the airline.
