ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Education, Trainings, Standards in Higher Education, Interior and Narcotics Control Balighur Rehman Monday said the biometric verification process of 16.3 million subscriber identification module (SIMs) have been completed.
Responding to motion moved by Farhatullah Baber in Senate, he said so far over 20 million unverified SIMs have been blocked.

He said, the federal had issued 74 threat alerts in various cities.
Integrated Border Management System has been launched for checking intrusion in Pakistan territory.
The registration of seminaries could not be initiated even by the governments of General Pervaiz Musharraf and PPP. While PML-N government has made significant progress in this regard. Wafaq-ul-Madaris is ready to cooperate. Provinces have already been directed to register seminaries.
The government had also amended the constitution and Pakistan Army Act for quick punishment to the terrorists.
Meanwhile, senator Saifullah Magsi moved a motion asking the government to introduce reforms in bureaucracy. He urged introducing performance based promotion system in bureaucracy.
