The breakdown was caused due to faults in two units in the Bin Qasim power plants, which affected Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gulshan-i-Jamal, Clifton, DHA, Shireen Jinnah Colony, Federal B Area, Baldia Town, Dalmia, Karsaz, old city areas, Saddar, Keamari, Lyari, and other areas.
