16 including two women arrested while smuggling narcotics: ANF

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has nabbed 16 persons including two women involved in narcotics smuggling and impounded six vehicles.

The Force, under its special campaign against the menace, has carried out 17 strikes across the country and recovered 1.376 ton drugs valuing Rs. 1.585 billion in international market.

The recovered drugs comprised 1.366 Ton Hashish, 5.2 kg Heroin, 1.5 kg Opium and 963 grams Methamphetamine.

As per the details here, ANF Quetta intercepted a Nisan Truck near Pirkani Town, Mian Chundi, Mastung Road, Quetta and recovered 1300 kg Hashish which was concealed in improvised cavities of the truck.         However, the persons on-board managed to escape from the scene, taking advantage of darkness.

In another operation, ANF Quetta while acting upon a tip-off seized an unattended car parked in area of Satellite Town, Quetta and recovered 52 kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. As per initial reports, the drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near GB Scouts Petrol Pump, Gilgit and recovered 3 kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. A person on-board identified as Nasrullah, resident of Gilgit was also arrested on the spot.

ANF Lahore recovered 750 grams Heroin from a United Kingdom bound parcel from office a courier service company based at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted an auto rickshaw near Shell Petrol Pump, Shahdra Morr, Lahore and recovered 1.2 kg Hashish which was concealed in secret cavities of the auto rickshaw.        A person on-board namely Shahbaz Mushtaq, resident of Sheikhupura was also apprehended during the operation.

In third operation, ANF Lahore recovered 2.4 kg Hashish by arresting two local drug peddlers identified as Rasheed Khan and Muhammad Shar both resident of Muzaffargarh.

In fourth operation, ANF Lahore arrested two drug peddlers identified as Ashiq Hussain and Karamat Ullah both resident of Layyah and recovered 2.4 kg Hashish from them. They were arrested near Pir Pathan Lakki Marwat Hotel, Saraye Nagar, Muzaffargarh.

In fifth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda City car near Bahria Town, Main Canal Road, Lahore and recovered 2.8 kg Heroin concealed in secret cavities of the car. Two persons on-board identified as Asim Aslam, resident of Sialkot and Abdul Haleem, resident of Kurram Agency were arrested at the spot.

In sixth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 1 kg Opium and 700 grams Heroin from personal possession of an accused namely Umer Hayat, resident of Sheikhupura arrested near Shell Pump Bhatti Chowk, Sehikhupura.

In seventh operation, ANF Lahore, seized 950 gram Heroin by intercepting a UK bound parcel booked at a Courier Service Company office at Faisalabad.

ANF Peshawar recovered 5 grams Heroin and 115 grams Hashish from possession of an accused identified as Misbah Ullah, resident of Swabi involved in supplying drugs to students of colleges and universities. He was arrested near a private academic institution.          In another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 5 grams Heroin and 110 grams Hashish from possession an accused identified as Sajjad Ahmed, resident of Peshawar, who was also involved in supply of drugs to students of different colleges and universities at Peshawar. He was arrested near University Gate, Peshawar.

In third operation, ANF Peshawar apprehended an accused identified as Shafiq Ahmed, resident of Khyber Agency and recovered 24 grams Heroin and 130 grams Hashish from him. He was arrested near Peshawar College, Peshawar.

In fourth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested a woman accused namely Saima Bibi travelling in a passenger Hiace near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 500 grams Opium and 4.8 kg Hashish from her.

In fifth operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Hiace near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 600 grams Hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Taza Khan, resident of Peshawar.

In sixth operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 1.2 kg Hashish from personal possession of a woman accused identified Bibi Ayesha, traveling in a Suzuki Mehran Car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.

ANF Karachi arrested an accused namely Khurshid Khan, resident of Swabi at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, who was intended to fly Daman by Gulf Airlines Flight No GF-751 and recovered 960 grams Methamphetamine concealed in his luggage.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
