RAWALPINDI: Provincial government had installed about 180 filtration plants in garrison city to provide safe water project but the citizens are getting unhealthy water.
Long queues could be seen in Rawalpindi’s filtration plants to fill their bottles with the ‘unsafe water.’
According to sources, the water in 180 plants contain iron, a major developer of Arsenic. The health experts say that Arsenic is a big contributor for multiple disorders of stomach, kidneys and cardiac.
The sources said that these plants were installed without taking water and sanitation officials in confidence.
The locals, who could see a breakout of stomach diseases, demand Water and Sanitary authority (WASA), provincial government and health department to take notice of matter.
