KARACHI: In a bid to overcome loadshedding, two power plants of 2,100MW will be built in Karachi, Radio Pakistan reported on Wednesday.
This was claimed by Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir while talking to a private news channel. The minister said that due to the heat-wave in the country, the power consumption has increased to 21,000 megawatts.
The government has however made efforts to increase the power generation from 14,000 to 16,000 megawatts. Dastgir expressed great grief over the loss of lives due to the sweltering heat in the province and urged the Sindh government to take necessary measures
