KINGSTON: Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two Jamaican nationals Thursday on drug smuggling charges, authorities said.
Deputies stopped a black BMW on Interstate 10, headed eastbound, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday for traffic violations, said Cmdr. Chris Ivey, Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
“During the stop, deputies discovered the vehicle was smuggling over 8 pounds of marijuana,” he said.
Arrested were Michael A Griffiths, 30, of Miami and “John Doe” — a man who refused to identify himself. They were charged with drug possession with intent to distribute. Both were booked into the parish jail with no bond.
