OSAGE COUNTY: The Osage County Sheriff’s Department says it discovered an attempt by two female inmates to smuggle methamphetamine and other narcotics into the county jail.
The department said Melissa J. Martin, 33, tried to deliver the drugs to inmate Sammi M. Shockley, 38, at the Osage County Jail, when Martin arrived to begin serving a sentence on another drug-related arrest.
Shockley contacted Martin to make arrangements for the two females to be in custody at the same time, according to the department’s statement.
Investigators said they located crystal methamphetamine and other illegal prescription narcotics on Martin during the booking process.
Both face charges of delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county/private jail without a prescription. Martin also faces an additional possession charge.
A judge issued a no bond warrant for Martin. An additional $25,000 bond was set for Shockley.
