AUSTIN: A pair of Michigan women, including one from Farmington Hills, were arrested Monday in Texas with 118 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $716,000, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Adelina Dedvukai, 27, of Farmington Hills, and Teuta Hajdini, 31, of Dearborn, were stopped for a traffic violation in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra on IH-40, near Amarillo, Texas, in Potter County.
According to the Texas DPS, the trooper discovered the marijuana in the trunk.
Both women were arrested for possession and delivery of marijuana over 50 pounds but less than 2,000 pounds, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Potter County Jail.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Tempe, Ariz., to Dearborn, according to the Texas DPS.
